a day like no other...

Waking up in Chie's apartment is amazing. The view of the mountains, the incessant screaming of cicadas and crying of crows. It's intense, it's summer, it's beautiful. Chie managed to get some time off of her work this morning and accompanied us to some very special spots. Hounenin Temple, Tanaka Miho's Plant Shop and Coffee Shop, and Mo-An Cafe.








In the afternoon Irwin and I went to Maniac Star, another awesome cafe full of Star Wars paraphernalia and Japanese punk rock music. Irwin had a C3PO Smoothie.In the evening we went to a tea ceremony where Chie takes lessons, at Daigo Temple. We were lucky enough to receive a private tour of the grounds with a monk and tea prepared by Chie's teacher himself.
Irwin made dinner.
